Question:27 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if she will give details of the amount which has been expended for each of the last ten years on the national railways under the following headings, specifying on which main line railway tracks (a) rail maintenance (b) rail improvements and upgrading (c) maintenance of rolling stock and (d) upgrading and replacement of rolling stock; and whether any proportion of this expenditure has been from the EC.
