Vol. 420 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dublin Roadway.

Seán Ryan

Question:

151 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will report on the application received from Dublin County Council for the funding for the dualling of the N1 from the roundabout at the Coachman's Inn, Cloghran to the roundabout to Pinnock Hill, Swords, County Dublin; and if, in view of the dangerous conditions for residents in the area and the recent fatal accident on this stretch of roadway, he will provide the necessary finance to enable the council to proceed.

The provision of a median barrier on the existing N1, between the Airport roundabout and the Pinnock Hill roundabout, is being undertaken on a phased basis. Work was completed in 1990 on the section from the Airport roundabout to the Cloghran roundabout. The question of providing road grants for the balance of the work will be considered in the context of the determination of road grants for future years.
