Under the Guidelines for State bodies prepared by the Minister for Finance and circulated to all boards in April of this year, all appointees to the boards of State bodies are required to furnish to the Secretary of the State body, details of all their business interests.
These details are kept by the Secretary in a confidential register which is only available for inspection by the Chairman, the Secretary and the Chief Executive of each body. There is no provision for inspection by members of the public.
