Question:

119 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education if he will outline his plans to resolve the serious shortage of space for educational activities at the Cork Regional Technical College; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A capital development programme to meet the needs of Cork Regional Technical College is currently at an advanced stage of planning. This is designed to provide a new information technology centre and to enhance student, staff and lecture room facilities. Funds have been set aside for the programme and immediately tender documents are received from the vocational education committee sanction to seek tenders will be issued by my Department.
