Vol. 421 No. 9

Written Answers. - Teachers' Religious Practices.

Roger T. Garland

Question:

75 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Education whether any teacher has either been discharged from teaching duties or has failed to be appointed to a school because of religious reasons such as the denomination practised or the lack of practise of any particular religion; and if so, if he will outline (a) the relevant details of the schools involved and (b) the number of teachers involved over the past 15 years.

I am not aware of any teacher who was either discharged from teaching duties or failed to be appointed to a school for the reasons outlined by the Deputy.
