62 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the progress, if any, made towards the building of a national sports centre; if he will give details of (a) the proposed construction period envisaged when this centre was initially announced and (b) the date of opening; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of the building of a National Sports Centre is being kept under review. A construction period of about thirty months had been envisaged but no specific opening date had been determined.
