Question:153 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Education if any schools in County Sligo will benefit from the £500,000 sanctioned for the 1992-93 academic year for extra caretaking and clerical services in selected schools.

Under the Programme for Economic and Social Progress, it is proposed to introduce a phased programme, commencing late this year to expand the provision of caretaking and clerical services to national schools with 100 pupils upwards and to post-primary schools with 200 pupils upwards. I am not in a position to say at this point if schools in Sligo will benefit under this programme.
