Vol. 423 No. 1

Written Answers. - Kilcullen (Kildare) Sewerage Scheme.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

368 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the position as of 7 October 1992 of the proposed sewage scheme for Kilcullen, County Kildare; if he will further outline the extent, if any, to which the various procedures preliminary to the implementation of the scheme have been processed to date; if he will outline the outstanding item or items still to be processed prior to the implementation of the scheme; if there are sufficient funds available to progress the scheme further in the current year; when he expects the work to take place; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The preliminary report for the Kilcullen Sewerage Scheme was approved in February 1992. As the proposal is at an early stage of planning, the question of providing funds does not arise at this time. It is now a matter for Kildare County Council to prepare contract documents for the scheme.
