Question:130 Mr. Leyden asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if she has given approval for automation of the level crossing at Glanduff, Kiltoom, County Roscommon; and when work will commence.
Written Answers. - Glanduff (County Roscommon) Level Crossing.
Earlier this year my Department conveyed approval in principle to Irish Rail for the automation of the level crossing at Glanduff, Kiltoom, County Roscommon. I understand from the Chairman of CIE that a formal application for the making of an Order to cover the provision of barriers, lights and other equipment at the crossing will be submitted to me when agreement has been reached between Iarnród Éireann and Roscommon County Council as to the apportionment of costs. This is expected to be resolved shortly. Automation of the crossing can then proceed.
