65 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Finance whether the workers in the Agricultural Credit Corporation have been consulted about the sale thereof; if so, whether they were in agreement; and if not, the reason therefor.
In relation to the recent Government decision to offer ACC Bank plc for sale, the staff have been kept informed of developments to date. A request by the unions representing the staff to meet with the Minister for Finance has been acceded to and will take place shortly.
Prior to any sale taking place, the Government will honour the commitments in the Programme for Economic and Social Progress in regard to appropriate consultations.
