Proposals submitted by a developer for the procurement of the project on the basis of a design, part-finance, construction and management package were withdrawn in June, 1992. Following the withdrawal of the development Athlone UDC have re-examined the sport and leisure requirements of the area and have made proposals to meet those needs. This report is under consideration by the Department at present and when a decision is reached in the matter planning for the project will continue. |
