Vol. 426 No. 6

Written Answers. - Greyhound Registration.

Ivan Yates

Question:

120 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his attention has been drawn to the fact that while the ICC decided that an owner need not be a member of a coursing club in order to race a greyhound, no greyhound may be registered unless the person making the registration is a member of a coursing club.

I am aware of the nature of the rule change made by the Irish Coursing Club concerning the club membership requirement for racing as distinct and separate from the registration of greyhounds. I am at present reviewing the provision of the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958 under which the greyhound industry operates.
