252 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for the Environment the improvement works, if any, which are scheduled or envisaged for the national secondary route in Westport/Castlebar, County Mayo in 1993 and 1994 to ensure uniform quality and standard along the N5 and N60; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The planning and development of road improvement projects on national roads is a matter, in the first instance, for the relevant local authority. There are no current proposals before my Department in respect of improvement works to this section of road.
