Question:254 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment when a financial allocation will be made for the provision of a new public library at Castlecomer, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A preliminary proposal for a branch library in Castlecomer is being examined and I expect to be in a position to issue a decision in the near future. The question of a financial allocation does not arise at this stage.
