Question:

397 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he will give the names of the State boards or agencies which report to him, and the chairman of each board or agency, together with a short biography; the boards of agencies on which no civil servant serves; and if in respect of those on which a civil servant serves he will name the civil servant in each case.

—Irish National Petroleum Corporation — Mr. Seán Fitzgerald, Assistant Secretary, Department of Transport, Energy and Communications.

It is implicit for these appointments that these board members are competent to carry out their duties. I do not propose, in those circumstances, to provide biographic details.
