Vol. 428 No. 1

Written Answers. - Ambulance Services.

Mary Wallace

Question:

428 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health if he will include the provision of an ambulance service in south Meath in his review of ambulance services, which is currently taking place and which includes contractual arrangements and relationships for ambulance services in Dublin as the need for this service was very evident in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and when the review of the ambulance services will be completed.

I will communicate with the Deputy concerning the particular case mentioned.

My Department, together with the health boards, is currently undertaking a major review of ambulance services nationally. Amongst the main areas being covered by this review is the provision of ambulance services in the greater Dublin region. In addition, the Review Body has been requested by the North-Eastern Health Board to give particular attention to the ambulance service provided in the south Meath area.
I expect the National Ambulance Review Body to complete its report within the next few months.
