Vol. 429 No. 3

Written Answers. - North Dublin School Project Building.

Noel Ahern

Question:

254 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education her views on the campaign by the north Dublin National School Project who have almost 300 pupils and are in temporary accommodation in Glasnevin, Dublin 9, since 1984; the action, if any, taken; and the progress, if any, made in the campaign for a permanent school building.

The provision of a new school building for the North Dublin School Project has been approved, in principle, by my Department. The school authorities have identified a site for the proposed school building which will be inspected by my Department shortly. Assuming the suitability of the site the next step would be to get the planning process under way.
