Contract documents for this scheme are under examination in my Department. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sanitary services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when a decision may be made.

Question:119 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment when it is intended to provide the necessary funding for the upgrading of Portlaoise sewerage treatment works, County Laois; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
There are no proposals with my Department for the upgrading of this treatment works.

Question:120 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment when a final decision will be made on a proposal by Laois County Council for the upgrading of Mountmellick sewerage scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Contract documents for this scheme have been submitted to my Department, which is now awaiting the submission of a certificate from Laois County Council that all the necessary planning, land acquisition and wayleave arrangements have been completed.
