Written Answers. - County Laois Sewerage Schemes.

Question:

118 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received the submission from Laois County Council for sewerage works at Doonane-Crettyard, County Laois; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Contract documents for this scheme are under examination in my Department. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sanitary services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when a decision may be made.

119 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment when it is intended to provide the necessary funding for the upgrading of Portlaoise sewerage treatment works, County Laois; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are no proposals with my Department for the upgrading of this treatment works.

120 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment when a final decision will be made on a proposal by Laois County Council for the upgrading of Mountmellick sewerage scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Contract documents for this scheme have been submitted to my Department, which is now awaiting the submission of a certificate from Laois County Council that all the necessary planning, land acquisition and wayleave arrangements have been completed.
