133 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for the Environment his views on the likely environmentally destructive effects of the proposal by Mayo County Council to construct a sewage plant on 14 acres of high amenity land at the Westport House Country Estate; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Mayo County Council have prepared an Environmental Impact Study in relation to the proposed sewage treatment plant to serve Westport and its environs. The study, together with submissions and observations made to me by the public within the specified period, are being assessed at present. A decision will issue as soon as the assessment process is completed.
