56 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if officials of his Department are involved in undertaking a study into the sale of gas to the fertiliser industry; if so, the terms of reference of the committee; and when it will be in a position to conclude its business.

Officials of my Department have had preliminary discussions with officials in the Department of Enterprise and Employment and the Department of Finance about this matter. The terms of reference for the study for those referred to in the Moriarty report. I expect that it should be concluded by the end of September next.
