Question:216 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education the amount of money owed by her Department to Bus Éireann for the operation of the school transport service.

Costs incurred by Bus Éireann in operating the school transport scheme are funded through my Department on an ongoing basis in accordance with financial allocations made annually by Government. The provision in this year's Estimates related to the nett cost of service, that is exclusive of charges, is £35.154 million.
