140 Mr. Cox asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the steps, if any, that are in hand to transpose into national law the EC Directive on Unfair Contract Terms adopted by the EC on 5 April 1993, and due to be national law by December 1994.

The date for implementation of the Directive is 31 December, 1994. The necessary consultative procedures are already under way and it is my intention that the appropriate national measures will be in place by that date.
