Vol. 432 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Donegal Water Schemes.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

83 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application from Donegal County Council regarding the Sandfield/Ardara group water scheme; if so, the position regarding the proposal; when funds will be allocated to enable work to proceed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This scheme was allocated a grant in 1988. It would then have been for the group to progress the scheme with Donegal County Council, to whom the administration of group schemes has been devolved. My Department understands that the scheme did not go ahead and the grant has not been drawn down.

Question:

84 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application from Donegal County Council in relation to the regrading of the Teelin/Carrig group water scheme, County Donegal; if so, when it was received; and the up-to-date position regarding the allocation of funding towards the scheme.

An application was received from Donegal County Council in November 1991. This was examined by my Department and the council was requested to submit additional supporting documentation. When this is received, the application will be considered further.
