Vol. 432 No. 4

Written Answers. - Income Tax Query.

Ivan Yates

Question:

56 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance if the deduction of income tax from a person (details supplied) in County Wexford is correct.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer is in receipt of a social welfare pension and a pension from his former employer. His total income is marginally above the exemption limit and he is, therefore, entitled to marginal relief. The inspector of taxes will issue an amended certificate of tax free allowances shortly. Any tax overpaid from 6 April, 1993 will be refunded by his former employer.
