93 Mrs. Doyle asked the Minister for Education if she will confirm that a fourth teacher will be appointed to Caroreigh national school, County Wexford, Roll No. 17612C, in September; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The staffing of a national school is determined by the enrolment in the school on 30 September of the previous year. In the case of Caroreigh national school there were 97 pupils enrolled on 30 September, 1992. This enrolment warrants a staff of principal plus three assistants for the 1993-94 school year.
The chairperson of the board of management of the school was given sanction on 2 June, 1993, to appoint an additional assistant with effect from 1 September, 1993.
