Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Ellis

Question:

69 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will now pay all arrears of headage grants and suckler premia to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

It is not possible to answer the Deputy's question at present as the file in this case is with field staff for inspection. I have requested the return of the file to my Department and I will communicate with the Deputy again at an early date.

Patrick J. Morley

Question:

70 Mr. Morley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when payment of beef premium grants, outstanding since June 1992, will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The application of the person named for grants under the June 1992 special beef premium scheme was rejected when subjected to a computer validation check because of invalid tags. The problem with the application has now been resolved and payment should be made within the next fortnight. He did not apply for grants under the special beef premium scheme in the December 1992 application period.

Patrick J. Morley

Question:

71 Mr. Morley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a beef premium grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The person named was paid his grants under the June 1992 and December 1992, special beef premium scheme in December 1992 and early June 1993 respectively.

Donal Moynihan

Question:

72 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when payment of a suckler cow grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named has been deemed ineligible for grants under the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme because some animals listed on his application form as cows were found to be in-calf heifers. Furthermore, under EC Regulations he must be debarred from the scheme for the 1993 marketing year.

Donal Carey

Question:

73 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid his headage, suckler cow and beef premium grants; and when the files were passed from the Ennis office of his Department.

The applications of the person named for grants under the 1992 cattle headage, suckler cow premium and special beef premium schemes were passed for payment from the local livestock office in Ennis in December, 1992.

It was discovered after the applications were forwarded for payment that the herd number allocated to the person named and quoted by him on his applications was incorrect. The matter has now been resolved and payments will be made within a fortnight.
