82 Ms. F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health the money, if any, which has been made available under section 11 of the Child Care Act, 1991; if he will give a list of the persons who have been selected to do research; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Section 11 of the Child Care Act, 1991 which was brought into operation on 1 October 1992 provides for the conducting or commissioning of research into child care related matters. My Department has received a number of applications from voluntary bodies for funding under section 11 of the Act. These will be considered in the context of competing demands for funding from the £5 million which the Government recently made available for child care this year.
