97 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a person (details supplied) in County Galway who has applied for a forestry grant will be grant-aided under the new schedule of grants introduced in 1992 as he had not completed the establishment of the new plantation at the time of the introduction of this grant.

The person concerned is not eligible for the increased afforestation grants introduced in January 1992. These increased grants applied to works approved on or after 1 October 1991 and the scheme in question was approved prior to that date.
