Vol. 433 No. 7

Written Answers. - School Admittance Delay.

Noel Ahern

Question:

161 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the delay in gaining admittance to the Catherine McAuley School, Baggot Street, Dublin 2; if she has any plans to provide another similar facility to the city; if she will give details of the current waiting list; and if her attention has been drawn to the fact that far more would apply if there was any prospect of being admitted.

As I indicated to the House on 29 June, 1993, I am aware of the difficulties referred to and the question of providing additional facilities for children with a specific learning disability is being urgently examined at present by my Department.

Details of the current waiting list for the Catherine McCauley special school are not readily available.
