Vol. 434 No. 3

Written Answers. - Mallow (Cork) Courthouse.

Paul Bradford

Question:

113 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Justice if she will ensure that the necessary repairs and improvement works are carried out to Mallow Courthouse, County Cork; and if she will give the proposed time scale for the completion of these necessary works.

Section 3 of the Courthouse (Provision and Maintenance) Act, 1935, provides that every Council shall provide and maintain in the functional area of such Council suitable courthouse accommodation. I understand that repairs and improvements have been ongoing at Mallow Courthouse for some time. This work is being undertaken not by my Department but by Cork County Council. I have asked the council for a progress report and a completion date for the work. When the information is to hand I will be in contact with the Deputy in this matter.
