Question:

116 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of the water and sewerage schemes that have been submitted by Waterford County Council to his Department for funding; when he will sanction these schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Details of the water and sewerage schemes that have been submitted by Waterford County Council and are currently under consideration in my Department are set out in the following table. Having regard to the level of commitments under the water and sanitary services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when a decision on the schemes may be made.

Present Position

Waterford (East Water Supply, Stage 2)

Contract documents are under consideration. Certificate of completion of planning is awaited.

Tramore Sewerage

Environmental Impact Statement has been certified subject to certain modifications. Preliminary Report has been approved and County Council are to prepare Contract Documents.

Portlaw Sewerage (Treatment Works)

Work has commenced on the direct labour element (sewer section) of the contract. Tenders for treatment works and mechanical plant are under consideration.

Clonea/Ballinacourty Sewerage Scheme

Preliminary Report is under consideration.

Ardmore Water Supply

Preliminary Proposals under examination.

Cheekpoint Sewerage Scheme

Contract documents are under consideration.

Tallow Sewerage Scheme

Preliminary Report under consideration. Additional information awaited from County Council.
