Question:137 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Education if she will give details of any moneys expended from her Department or the national lottery, in favour of a company (details supplied) in Galway over the past ten years.

Under my Department's national lottery funded multi-annual sports capital programme, which was introduced by Government in 1988, a grant of £1 million was allocated to Galway Corporation for the refurbishment and extension of the Leisureland swimming pool complex. Construction work on the project commenced in October 1992 and was completed in July 1993. The grant of £1 million has been paid to Galway Corporation.
