45 Mr. Cullen asked the Minister for Finance if he has established the present value of the future liability of the Exchequer in respect of pensions for An Post and Telecom employees prior to the vesting of those organisations on 1 January 1984.
I informed the House in reply to similar questions on 6 April 1993 that work is proceeding in my Department, in consultation with the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications and the companies, to establish the extent of the Exchequer's liabilities to the An Post and Telecom Éireann pension funds. Pending completion of these studies I am not in a position to be more specific.
