Vol. 434 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Enda Kenny

Question:

108 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a ewe premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

Payment of the advance of the 1993 ewe premium was made to the person named on 5 October, 1993.

Enda Kenny

Question:

109 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when sheep and cattle headage payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The person named has already been paid her grants under the 1992 cattle and equines headage scheme. She has been deemed ineligible for grants under the December 1992 suckler cow premium scheme as she did not maintain the number of cows on which she applied for premium for six months as required under the terms and conditions of the scheme.

As regards the 1993 ewe premium scheme the position is that the person named was not entitled to an auomatic quota as she was not an applicant under the scheme in 1991 which was the reference year for quota purposes. She has, however, applied for a quota from the national reserve. This application is being processed at present and if she is successful her application under the 1993 ewe premium scheme will then be processed.

The person named is not an applicant under the 1993 sheep headage scheme.

Paul Bradford

Question:

110 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the payment of a 1992 beef premium to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; the amount due to this applicant; and when payment will issue.

Paul Bradford

Question:

111 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork, will be paid a 1992 suckler cow grant; and the amount due to him under this scheme.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 110 and 111 together.

The application of the person named for grants under the December 1992 special beef premium scheme was rejected when subject to a computer validation check. The problem with the appliction is being dealt with at present and when it is resolved payment will be made as soon as possible. I am not in a position to state the exact amount payable at this stage.

The person named did not apply for grants under the 1992 special beef premium scheme in the June application period. His 1992 suckler cow premium scheme grant of £2,124.74 will be paid within a fortnight.

P. J. Sheehan

Question:

112 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his ten month beef premium grant.

The person named has already been paid his grants under the June 1992 and December 1992 special beef premium schemes. He is not an applicant in 1993 for the ten months special beef premium but he applied for the 22 months premium in the January application period.

Under EC regulations, payments in respect of the 1993 special beef pemium scheme cannot commence until after 1 November 1993 when a 60 per cent advance may be paid. The application of the person named will be processed as soon as possible.

P. J. Sheehan

Question:

113 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his suckler cow grant.

My Department has no record of applications under the 1992 and 1993 suckler cow premium schemes or beef cow and equines headage schemes from the person named.

P. J. Sheehan

Question:

114 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his sheep headage grant and ewe premium grant for 1993.

The person named was not paid the advance of the 1993 ewe premium as he has no quota. He has however applied for a quota from the national reserve. These applications are being processed at present and if he is successful his application for payment of premium will then be processed.

Payments under the 1993 sheep headage scheme are scheduled to commence in November and the person named should receive his payment then as his application has been checked and found to be in order.
