Question:83 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total amount of EC funding allocated in the National Development Plan 1994-1999 to his Department for various projects.

The total amount of EC Structural Funds allocated to my Department in the National Development Plan for the period 1994-1999 is £1,140 million. In addition a sum of approximately £54 million has been allocated to other Departments specifically for the food sector. This brings the total EC allocation for agriculture, food and forestry to £1,194 million. When national Exchequer funding of £311 million is added, total public funding for agriculture, food and forestry in the National Development Plan amounts to £1,505 million.
