Vol. 435 No. 5

Written Answers. - Land Registry.

Michael Creed

Question:

62 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Justice when an application for registration will be completed with the Land Registry on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and the reason for the delay with same.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application for what is referred to as a transfer of part, which was lodged in the Land Registry on 25 February 1993.

Due to pressure of work in the Land Registry generally, there is, at present, a delay in dealing with applications of this nature. I am also informed, however, that it is the policy of the Land Registry to try in so far as possible to expedite cases in which it can be established that circumstances of special urgency exist. Any such case will be specially considered if details of the reasons for urgency are submitted in writing to the registrar.
