Vol. 435 No. 9

Written Answers. - Kingscourt (Cavan) School.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

270 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to build a second level vocational school in Kingscourt, County Cavan; if this project is included in the 1994 Estimates for her Department; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

In 1981, approval in principle was given for the provision of a Junior Cycle Vocational School in Kingscourt and architectural planning progressed to detailed sketch design stage.

However, priority has been given to other projects deemed to be of greater urgency. In accordance with standard practice all aspects of the project are currently under review in my Department, particularly in the context of the most up to date statistical data and demographic trends.
