80 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on the demands for the refurbishment of the Holy Spirit Boys and Girls national school, Ballymun, Dublin 11; the estimated cost of the refurbishment work; if she has included the project in the 1994 Estimates; and if she will give a commitment to carry out the work in 1994 in view of the unsuitable educational conditions and the threatened strike of INTO members at the school.

My Department has given approval in principle for a major refurbishment scheme at the two schools in question, and the detailed architectural; planning is proceeding. In view of the extensive refurbishment involved, a reliable estimate of the cost is not available at this stage of planning. The question of including this project in the 1994 capital programme will be considered when the Estimates for 1994 have been approved.
