Vol. 436 No. 3

Written Answers. - Installation Aid Applications.

Paul Bradford

Question:

91 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the position being adopted by his Department when assessing applications for installation aid with regard to off-farm income; whether it is gross or net income that is used when comparing off-farm income with farm income; and if capital repayments are allowable as expenses when determining an applicant's off-farm income.

Where the applicant has a source of non-farm income it is the gross figure which is considered. This can be verified by providing either a P60 or a Final Assessment of Income Tax Liability as provided by the Revenue Commissioners.

The on-farm income is based on the total labour income for the holding as computed for the previous production year using the standard man days and standard gross margins.
