92 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork was refused the suckler cow grant in 1992; and the size of suckler cow quota which this person is entitled to.
The person named was not an applicant under the 1992 suckler cow scheme.
However, an application was received under the herd number quoted from the person's son. This person was deemed ineligible for suckler cow premium in 1992 on the grounds that he failed to maintain the number of animals applied for on his holding for the required retention period.
In the light of the above and the fact that the quota is based on the number of suckler cow grants received in 1992 he is not therefore entitled to quota.
