49 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will introduce legislation to amend existing consumer law in order to make Telecom Éireann amenable to its provisions.

128 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will introduce legislation to amend existing consumer law in order to make Telecom Éireann amenable to its provisions.

I propose to take Oral Question Nos. 49, and 60 and Written Question No. 128 together.

I am presently having discussions with my colleague the Minister of Transport, Energy and Communications regarding the inclusion of the telecommunications services within the scope of section 39 of the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act, 1980.
