Question:15 Mr. Lowry asked the Minister for Justice the number of gardaí who will be required to retire from the force on age grounds during each of the years 1994 to 1997.

The position is that 242 gardaí will be required to retire from the force on age grounds in 1994, 319 in 1995, 218 in 1996 and 244 in 1997, making a total of 1,023 in all.
