Vol. 438 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Salaries

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

267 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the projected cost of salaries, allowances and other such payments for the offices of programme managers / special advisers / ministerial assistants and other such offices under his aegis as at January 1993; the outturn for the year ending 31 December 1993; the projected expenditure under this heading in 1994; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The projected cost of salaries, allowances and other such payments for the offices of Programme Manager, Special Adviser and Ministerial Assistant attached to my Office at the time of the budget for 1993 was £91,728.56.

The outturn in respect of the three persons concerned was £77,475.08.

The projected expenditure for 1994 is £94,139.08.

The difference between the 1993 projection and the actual outturn was mainly due to the fact that one of the persons concerned took up duty several months later than expected.
