Vol. 438 No. 7

Written Answers. - Ballycragh (Dublin) School.

Mary Harney

Question:

246 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to provide a school hall at Scoil na Corónach Muire, Ballycragh, Dublin 24, in view of the fact that this school is in a disadvantaged area and the lack of this facility means there is no physical education, assembly for the children attending the school or for parent/teacher meetings.

It is the policy of my Department that the capital funds available for national schools be targeted on the provision of essential classroom accommodation and on the upgrading of substandard school premises.

It is not possible, therefore, to grant-aid the provision of a school hall for Scoil an Choróin Mhuire, Ballycragh at the present time.
