Vol. 439 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tallanstown (Louth) School.

Dermot Ahern

Question:

154 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Education the position regarding the proposed extension to Tallanstown national school, Dundalk, County Louth; when the project will commence; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Seamus Kirk

Question:

173 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position regarding the building replacement project at Tallanstown school, County Louth.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 154 and 173 together. A major building project has been approved by my Department for this school. However, it has not been possible to include it in the 1994 national school capital programme because of other demands deemed to be of a higher priority which had to take precedence. It will continue to be considered for inclusion in the programme in the light of available resources and other commitments and priorities.
