Vol. 439 No. 5

Written Answers. - Cork Course Proposals.

Máirín Quill

Question:

16 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Education if she intends to give approval to a third diploma year in print media communications at Cork Regional Technical College; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that this year has been already sanctioned by the National Awards Body and also by the board of management of Cork Regional Technical College; and if she would give her approval without further delay.

Micheál Martin

Question:

198 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education if she will give diploma status to the print media communications course at the Cork Regional Technical College for the academic year 1994 to 1995.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 16 and 198 together.

New course proposals from the Regional Technical College, Cork, will be considered in the context of the programmes and budget which, under the terms of the Regional Technical Colleges Act, 1992, are to be submitted on or before 1 May.

These proposals and the proposals from other Regional Technical Colleges and the Dublin Institute of Technology will be considered having regard to policy and available resources.
