Vol. 440 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ivan Yates

Question:

98 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a 1993 beef premium for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be paid; and if he will expedite all payments due to this person.

The application of the person named for grants under the January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and a 60 per cent advance as provided in EU regulations will be paid within a fortnight. He has already been paid a 60 per cent advance on 8 March 1994 under the June 1993 ten month special beef premium scheme.

Payment of the balances cannot be made to a particular applicant until all applications received from him in the course of 1993 have been processed. This is necessary to ensure compliance with EU regulations covering in particular the ceiling on eligible animals and stocking density.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

100 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of cow, beef or ewe premia he expects to have paid before 10 June 1994; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

All outstanding 1993 headage and premium payments should be made before 10 June 1994 save for the normal percentage of unresolved query cases.
