Vol. 441 No. 8

Written Answers. - Castleblayney Military Barracks.

Robert Molloy

Question:

87 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Defence if provision is made in the 1994 Estimates for new accommodation at Castleblayney military barracks; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A sum of £7.9 million has been provided under Subhead V — Building and Engineering Works, in the Defence Estimate for 1994. A number of priority works, including alternative accommodation to permit the surrender of buildings at Collins Barracks, Dublin for National Museum purposes, has been scheduled. The provision of new accommodation for military personnel at Castleblayney Military Post is being considered in the light of the remaining financial resources and competing demands for them.
