Vol. 441 No. 8

Written Answers. - Energy Grants.

Michael Finucane

Question:

122 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if applications are being accepted for energy grants for farmers in disadvantaged areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The farm electrification grants scheme — FEGS — which is operated by my Department in conjunction with the ESB, is designed to subsidise the cost of installation of electricity supply to farms without supply, or with inadequate supply, in order to increase farm output in disadvantaged regions of the country. Applications for grant-aid under this scheme are being accepted. Application forms are available from local ESB offices.
