Vol. 443 No. 7

Written Answers. - Weather Damaged Crop Compensation.

Frank Crowley

Question:

171 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of applications that have been received by his Department for weather damaged crop compensation, particularly from potato growers; the number of applications that have been accepted; the number of applications which were rejected; and the reasons these applications were rejected.

Six hundred and three applications have been received by my Department for weather damaged crop compensation, of which 434 relate either wholly or partly to potatoes. Eighty-four of the 603 applications did not meet the criteria for eligibility and were rejected. Twelve applications, received late, were also rejected.
